------------------ Additional Follow-up Comments ----------------------------
With -compact option added to ocamlopt cmd line it compiles fine.
And now there is no more client.lam so now it compiles fine even without the
-compact.
=================== BUG #597: FULL BUG SNAPSHOT ===================

client

Summary: Can't compile mldonkey on HPPA arch
Original Submission: I'm trying to compile mldonkey on HPPA/UX architecture.
I've successfully compiled ocaml with your patch but there is a serious problem
- the last step - linking fails with numerous errors:
/usr/ccs/bin/ld: Target of unconditional branch is out of range
Reference from: client.o(0x400f8)
I've tried to put several -ccopts in Makefile.config but it didn't help.
The problem is that the file client.o generated from the client.lam is too
large. If it would be possible to split it into more files then it should link
fine.
