I Have the Same problem, MLDonkey just doesn't care
about bandwidth limitation. It even goes a step further,
it opens so many connections (no matter what I tell it)
that it goes over my (ISP) cap.
So everytime I let MLDonkey run, I lose my inet
connection because my ISP cuts me off.
Judging from the Mailinglists and the reports here, I am
not the only one with this. and the problem seems to be
rather old news.
Will it ever be fixed, or just ignored?

I did solve my problem - sort of.
I now use policy routing in my Cisco router to limit the
upstream from mldonkey...
Certainly not a soultion for everyone.
