I dunno if this is a bug or if it only happened 
because I reconnected my mldonkey client to the same 
server, but in 

files.ini
under
file_locations

I have my own IP listed as a source for all files I'm 
currently trying to download. Also, under upstats, the 
files I'm currently downloading tend to have more 
requests than the ones I'm only sharing, which could 
imply that I'm requesting from myself.

Just filter out the own client IP from sources, should 
fix it if it's a bug indeed.
