I different interim solution would be to use the --disable-asm configuration switch in x264.mk. That way we get an un-optimized (but working) version of the package. There's been some sort of change in the way backports work, though I'm not familiar enough with Debian to know what it is. This is long standing problem[3], and I've started experimenting with native builds that look quite promising so far[4]. Cheers, Tony |
