Hi,
My first step in investigating was to overwrite my openal.mk from 2.18 
with the version in trunk/master.
The patch was made with the latest openal.mk (sorry for not adding more 
information in my message.)
I also believe the patch might have been missing part of the path (i.e 
openal-soft-1.13/Alc/dsound.c instead of just dsound.c)
