I'd think that way we would have a more consistent hitory in the source tree. Maintainers can feel free to not accept the patch and generate the gettext files themselves. Is it perhaps a unclear maintainer hierarchy that is the reason behind them not being merged? It didn't occur to me that they weren't, what's holding them back?
I believe Maxime was waiting for me to make certain that the nl_NL to nl change does not require any further changes in the settings.py . Unfortunately, with real life work load being what it is, I did not get around to set up and run my own server in the last few days.
If no objections have surfaced yet I'd say you should feel free to merge yourself. You can merge your patches first, then merge my copyright patch, then pull from transifex, generate gettext files, and push to transifex, and simply leave my gettext patch.
@Maxime: Could you please go ahead with the push, or should I do it myself? I am pretty confident that I did not break too much :-)
Alternatively, as Guttorm suggested, I could the push myself as well and then continue the transifex work.
