I'll see about writing up a more detailed HowTo on how to use git to
keep the project updated, to make local topic branches to do your work
in, to then use git format-patch or git send-email to submit it back
to the project, and how then to either squash your topic branch if
your patch got picked up or to bring the topic branch up to speed by
merging from master after pulling.

Once you're used to working in git, going back to CVS or SVN is like
having your teeth pulled after having had a root canal, all without
anesthesia. True story. ;)
