Does this system have several drive letters (C:, D:, E:, etc.)?

Also, are you prepared to fail Makefile's which use COMMAND.COM's
syntax of internal commands, like "ECHO OFF" or "FOR"?

It's determined at build time, since each port is built from slightly
different sources (that's what #ifdef's do).
