Sorry for the long delay.  I applied this backport from CVS head, and
added you to the branch-1_4 THANKS.

I think with John B.'s two excellent bug reports about various core dumps,
seen in http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/m4-patches/2006-01/threads.html,
we will be needing a 1.4.5 sooner than later.
