No they haven't yet.  Though NUL cleanliness has been on the TODO list
forever.

Excellent.  That would be much appreciated... do you have the relevant
paper work filed with the FSF yet?  I can send it to you if not.

Also, I presume you have noticed that development has move to
savannah.gnu.org from Rene's site while I am custodian of the code?
Please send patches against the current CVS HEAD if possible.
