"lynx -version" should show "wide":

        Lynx Version 2.9.0dev.12 (02 Jan 2023)
        libwww-FM 2.14, SSL-MM 1.4.1, GNUTLS 3.7.8, ncurses 6.4.20221231(wide)
        Built on linux-gnu.

e.g., configuring with
        --with-screen=ncursesw
