Can you send me the exact file?

>/usr/bin/gzip -d --no-name /tmp/lynxXXXXDZqDGQ/L653-6623TMP.html.gz

I’d both like to do some analysis on it and see whether the gzip
in BSD (which also supports compress) can deal with it (or maybe
it’s just deflate…).

I’m assuming you followed recent advice on this list and changed
“Preferred encoding” in (O)ptions from the default (5) All to
(1) None already and retried with that. (Though “All” WFM here,
on BSD and with a slightly older dev version of lynx.)

PS: Best to store the file in a tarball(!) somewhere and send a
link to the mailing list, Googlemail has intermittent issues
trying to get messages to my server as they don’t honour the
internet eMail standards. Add a checksum, too, please.
Support mksh as /bin/sh and RoQA dash NOW!
‣ src:bash (350 (372) bugs: 0 RC, 242 (258) I&N, 108 (114) M&W, 0 F&P)
‣ src:dash (106 (125) bugs: 0 RC, 57 (63) I&N, 49 (62) M&W, 0 F&P)
‣ src:mksh (0 bugs: 0 RC, 0 I&N, 0 M&W, 0 F&P)
dash has two RC bugs they just closed because they don’t care about quality…
