I'd assume "lynx". However, I'm not seeing a problem in a quick check -lynx rapidly displays the page (using dev.8 which I compiled, or dev.7 from Debian/testing). valgrind indicates that it allocated about 4Mb.
tested with lynx dev7 and dev8 (but I remember that dev7 was OK) And recent changes have nothing to do with this. So please test it with your lynx version(s) and if problem arise send full lynx version, gcc used to build it, ncurses version, libc implementation ...
