I just finished compiling and checking a MingW version of lynx
2.8.6dev.17, using PDCurses 2.7 and today's snapshot of OpenSSL 0.9.8,
and compiled under Cygwin using -mno-cygwin and gcc 3.3.3. National
Language Suppport was used with gettext and iconv. I applied the two
patches that I posted earlier.
The configure script still doesn't get all the options correct,
requiring some manual tweaking of lynx_cfg.h after running configure.
I presume that this is due to confusion as to what is included in
Cygwin vs what is used when running -mno-cygwin.
So far, everything that I tested seemed to work fine, including SSL
support, switching languages, and compressed help pages. I didn't
see any off-by-one errors on the web pages that I visited. I'll keep
looking for problems.
One thing that I did notice is that our documentation still points to
Vlad Harchev's web page for details on lynx configuration options. That
page has been down for some time now.
