I have no idea about what may be causing it, but now tried
different things.
Everything ran from the linux console. 'resize' reports 80x25
and "TERM" is set to linux.
1- Use the Slackware -current (2.8.5rel.1) lynx: No
corruption.
2- Recompile 2.8.6dev.16 with the latest temp patch using the
Slackware options: Corruption.
3- Recompile 2.8.6dev.{13,12,11,7) using my options:
Corruption.
4- Recompile 2.8.5rel.1 using my options: No corruption.
5- Recompile 2.8.6dev.{4,5} using my options: No corruption.
6- Recompile 2.8.6dev.6 using my options: Corruption.
So, apparently some change to 2.8.6dev.6 caused it.
