hi thomas,
I can reproduce something like this (on ports - not on Linux yet). Debugging on ports takes more time, but since I can see it there, I'll isolate the problem. The stack overflow and the wrapped titles - I've fixes for those in ftp://invisible-island.net/temp/lynx2.8.6dev.12b.patch.gz and will make a dev.13 once I've fixed the blinking stuff (unless someone finds another showstopper before I get to that point).
just fyi: building now v2.8.6 w/ lynx2.8.6dev.12b.patch applied on OSX 10.4.1 i can verify that:(*) temporary mods to "/usr/include/netdb.h" due to errant POSIX_C_SOURCE def'n are no longer necessary
(*) mods to src/LYCurses.c no longer necessary configure/make/install w/o error ...but that 'dots/lines blinking on blue' still occurs on 1st link, & disappears after action (e.g. accept cookie)
cheers, richard
