Tom, what's the status with Lynx and iconv?  I mean, is Lynx really using
iconv, or is the configure script looking for libiconv in connection with
gettext or in preparation for moving over to iconv?

Also, what would it mean for terminal emulations like TeraTerm which don't
do UTF-8?
