As far as I can tell, this is the only, or almost
the only, way to get the version-no from a running
lynx.

Suggestion: add it to the "?" page.

Also, at the line where one can choose Lynx Users' Guide,
append *its* last-modified date.

Why?  So one can see if it's the same one you've *already*
downloaded.  (Assuming the user appends that date to the
filename he saves it to.)



Also nice would be to, when saving that user-guide to the 
user's chosen filename, to poke the date to show the same
date *you* (developers) see when doing an "ls -l" on it.

Perhaps make it an option, whether or not it pokes the date.


Please either make this change, or add it to the proper
priority in the wish-list -- or edplain why it's not
a good idea.
