lynx-dev Lynx crashes on textfields (dev.13 and dev.14) |

Hi all,
I'm back to the list, be happy ;-)
Now my problem report:
With both lynx 2.8.5dev.13 and dev.14, on OpenBSD - port
is in subdirectory www/lynx/ of
http://mitglied.lycos.de/tygs/pub/my-ports.tgz
I have the following problem, and I have had it with earlier 2.8.3
and 2.8.4 devel builds as well, but don't exactly remember, but
now I think I know what the problem is:
Lynx crashes. Usually when editing a textfield.
I found out that some pages, like Slashdot, allow you to
put e.g. your PGP public key (0x8F1F22ED for me :) online
and use a text input field in a form for that.
Problem is, when the size of text inputted into a field
like that exceeds a certain limit I have not been able to
evaluate yet (about 2-3K characters), lynx coredumps.
I haven't noticed that exactly earlier because I've
usually used ^Xe (or ^V^Ve) to escape to $EDITOR when
doing stuff like this; when I used wsmoused (prog. like gpm)
to cut-n-paste my pgp key to lynx recently, I noticed the
crash after I typed a character manually.
This is not reproducable with OpenBSD in-tree lynx
(based upon 2.8.2 with heavy modifications) though.
I haven't digged into the source yet, because I think
some developer may know at once what the problem could
be, or at least where to look, but if you have no
spare time, I'll try myself, because I want this to be
fixed before 2.8.5 comes out, since it's a fairly severe
bug.
