[ this is the 5th attempt to get this to lynx-dev:
several other messages have gone missing during the past month;
perhaps TD can tell me if the Cc reaches him ]

i have downloaded & compiled 2-8-4dev.19 successfully
& can now view an image with  xv  if the link is explicit
(eg Yahoo news sites bury the image URLs in JS);
also, i can use the mouse on links & the lower edge of a page.  however,
some things aren't right & don't seem to be covered in the obvious docs.
i am using Mandrake Linux & KDE; ncurses is 5.0_990703 .

(1) i configured with  --enable-default-colors 
& with/without  --enable-color-style , but get no sign of colors.

(2) the mouse doesn't seem to be working as advertised on the left margin.

(3) the CHANGES file for this version mentions addition of  NEXT_DOC ,
but there's no sign of it under keybindings in  lynx.cfg .

(4) i have included `&' at the end of the  xv  line in  lynx.cfg ,
but the Lynx display disappears till i close the  xv  window;
yes, i can save the image, but it might be useful to have eg a map on screen.

my usual gratitude to those who do the work, esp TD,
& some willingness to help improve documentation when i have time,
but i would appreciate any suggestions how to solve these problems.
