I guess I wrote too soon. I have now done several crash tracebacks and
the crash seems to occur in a different spot each time. If no one has
suggestions here, I'll post this to comp.os.msdos.djgpp and see if
anyone there can help.

The following tracebacks are from the same binary, run a few times. 
DJGPP signal 291 is SIGSEGV.
