I noticed the same problem connected to ftp.gtk.org, ftp.gimp.org,
ftp.gnu.org or ftp://alpha.gnu.org (I'm not sure which) with a 2.8.2dev
version. It was printing the files using ls -l and the links with a lot
of %X%X%X characters. Impossible to change to another dir or to download
a file.
