lynx-dev lynx and wget

hello everybody
im trying to make lynx run wget for downloading files.
i found in lynx.cfg a paragraph that said to add a line like
EXTERNAL:ftp:wget -s &:TRUE
[actually, i copied /usr/lib/lynx/lynx.cfg to ~/ , modified it, and run
lynx -cfg=./lynx.cfg..]
but it's not working. or.. maybe im not doing it right? should i do
something else instead of moving to a link like ftp://.. and press 'd' ?!
