maybe you've confused `tables' with `frames'.

2-8 is getting a bit old: 2-8-2 will be out shortly;
look at  www.slcc.edu/lynx/release
&        sol.slcc.edu/lynx/current  for 2-8-1 & latest developments.

no: Lynx doesn't support tables,
tho' there's discussion every so often about how to attempt it.
there is an awk script you can try:
 www.mich.com/~thomas/ftp/lxtab0.5.tar.gz ;
