It seems to work for me if I use the advanced search. An
unspoofed search from the regular front page doesn't get a useful
response, though.
As to the text-entry problem, it's apparently screen-width
dependent. I wasn't seeing the cursor being offset into the
field with a 99 column screen, but when I narrowed it to 80
columns, so that the field was the first thing on its line, the
problem showed up.
