again for my education -- & i suspect other lynx-devers' -- ,
what is the difference between memory corruption/leaks?

as for signals,  man signal  gets a brief account of  signal(2) ,
but it is hardly enlightening (KW mentioned this in another message).

i will test with KW's small patch shortly.
