Definitely. Anyone interested in doing the translations for Lynx in a
serious way should build and install this package.

If you do the translations on a faulty template, which was true of all
of the templates (*.po files) up to dev3 of the Lynx distribution, you
are likely to lose some of your translations. The command "msgmerge"
will help, but you are still likely to get "fuzzy" comments which will
keep that string from getting compiled in (*.mo file).

Having had hands on experience in translating and installing a working
*.mo file, I cannot recommend enough not using what is in the Lynx
distribution /intl and /po directories, and go directly to the gettext
source referenced above. If you are on Solaris, I would heartily
recommend using --with-included-gettext and --program-prefix=g when you
configure for the GNU gettext library and tools. In the future Lynx may
be able to use Sun's gettext, but I personally am going to wait until
Sun gets their act together.

I hate to see any of the translators waste their time. It takes
only seconds to get an updated template and/or update your previous
translations if you have the right tools.
