there was some debate a couple of months ago (cp the Archive)
about updating the whole set of choices in configuration, userdefs.h ,
lynx.cfg , run-time switches & the new on-line Options form,
one aim being to make everything which is not security-related
changeable on-line & saveable longer-term if desired.
so the first step is to review the whole list of choices everywhere
& decide which ones present no security problems;
the second step will then be to bring the last 3 methods into alignment,
with appropriate methods of saving in the Options form.
