Yes, there is a reason :)

Lynx is undergoing parallel development at several sites.  Our
additions to Lynx to support internationalization were developed
from the 2.7 version rather than the 2.8, and we have not yet been
able to migrate our work to the latest version.

It's not as bad as it looks, however, as I believe we were up to
version 2.7.101, give or take a couple of updates, so our code is
only a little bit out of date.  If you see any new features listed,
try them to see if they have already been implemented, and report
back to us!

When we have enough volunteer time available to merge our changes
into the latest 2.8, and debug that, we will do so, however, it is
our priority to get the current version stable enough for the
general user population on CCN first. That means all "critical"
bugs, especially functions that fail, but not all cosmetic bugs,
especially as regards the translation of some of the screen output,
will be dealt with.  Once we complete the migration to our new host
computer, then the development will continue.
