lynx-dev new-subscriber welcome msg

there's been no reply to my note a week ago about the message
which greets new subscribers to lynx-dev, which is rather out-of-date.
so i'll repeat it, hoping Bob Izenberg will make the necessary changes.

this is  15 months  out of date (since 2-7): now we have  V .

this harks back to pre-history (for me):
today, we also cover DOS, Win32, OS/2, Mac (at least);
could we say `Unix' normally (for beginners' sake)?
 
and can we add a few encouraging words for our new members at this point?
eg "Lynx-dev is a very busy list, with many contributors & topics:
some discuss very technical programming & system problems,
some find it a good way to learn about Internet software issues,
some are users who kibbitz & make comments & suggestions,
some just dip into occasional items which interest them.
it's very much a volunteer community".
