   There are some settings in the [386Enh] section of SYSTEM.INI dealing
with this. In Windows v3.xx 386 Enhanced mode, the approved way of changing
these is through Control Panel. Open the 386 Enhanced applet and select the
Virtual Memory button. Dunno about Win95.

   Yes. Use the DPMI Get Free Memory Information call (INT 31h/AX=0500h).
