LYNX-DEV Question about the distributed lynx_help_main.html

Subject: LYNX-DEV Question about the distributed lynx_help_main.html

I was noticing this morning that using Lynx 2.8.1dev.5, the lynx help
screen looked a bit peculiar. On my dtterm, it looks like:

and the indentation was what caught my eye... Anyways, I decided to run
weblint and nsgmls on the html to see if there was something peculiar to
the html. Weblint had some problems because it doesn't parse HTML 3.0
features like <lh> without warnings. Then, with nsgmls, I got:
/projects/sprs_lwv/lib/lynx/lynx_help/lynx_help_main.html ...
/projects/intranet/bin/nsgmls:/projects/sprs_lwv/lib/lynx/lynx_help/lynx_help_main.html:11:9:E:
"PLAIN" is not a member of a group specified for any attribute
/projects/intranet/bin/nsgmls:/projects/sprs_lwv/lib/lynx/lynx_help/lynx_help_main.html:12:3:E:
 element "LH" undefined
/projects/intranet/bin/nsgmls:/projects/sprs_lwv/lib/lynx/lynx_help/lynx_help_main.html:14:9:E:
"PLAIN" is not a member of a group specified for any attribute
/projects/intranet/bin/nsgmls:/projects/sprs_lwv/lib/lynx/lynx_help/lynx_help_main.html:45:9:E:
"PLAIN" is not a member of a group specified for any attribute
/projects/intranet/bin/nsgmls:/projects/sprs_lwv/lib/lynx/lynx_help/lynx_help_main.html:48:9:E:
"PLAIN" is not a member of a group specified for any attribute
/projects/intranet/bin/nsgmls:/projects/sprs_lwv/lib/lynx/lynx_help/lynx_help_main.html:74:53:E:
general entity "nbsp" not defined and no default entity

So I decided to ask folk if there is something special I should be doing
to convince nsgmls that this HTML is really valid html.

Also, is the intent really for HTML 4.0 to be indented liek that, and for the
Keep yoru Comments Legal to be so indented? Just curious about the
reasons behind the design of the page.

The reason I was looking at the page was that I was trying to remember the
URL to check my version of lynx against the current development. When
I tried my bookmark, I got an error saying that I was running an old
version (2.8.1dev.4) even though when I do an O or a P lynx tells me I
am using 2.8.1dev.5. I thought, perhaps there is something really
peculiar going on here - grepping thru my executable only shows me
2.8.1dev.5 as well...
