Exactly.  It is needed and useful to some people, especially when
30+ users are using the same Lynx image at the same time, in addition
to other users who may be totally oblivious that a class is going on
... until /tmp gets filled up and they complain to the sysadmin why
they can't do anything anymore.  Having this define around does not
mean you can't use /tmp.
