NO! you've missed the point: maybe you missed the start of the thread.
the situation here is not whether every source should be cached
-- which would be heavy on memory, files etc & generally wasted -- ,
but whether source files obtained with  \  should be treated as normal files
& put in the cache like all the others,
so that if you want to flip between source & rendered versions
you could do so without having to wait for retransmission each time.
that's what's generally irritating, even tho' it happens only occasionally,
& it should be quite easy to fix.
