You didn't say what you have tried. If you really want email from DOS,
without using windows, try following the step-by-step instructions in
"http://home.concepts.nl/~fiber/dose.htm";. 
The package I have made available should work for lynx under DOS, and
has a batch file to make "mailto:"; URL's work. Look for it at:
"http://www.rahul.net/dkaufman/lynx2.8pre.2-DOS.zip"; or
"ftp://ftp.rahul.net/pub/dkaufman/lynx2.8pre.2-DOS.zip";.

Write back if you still have problems.
