LYNX-DEV use_externals and lyk_extern

I am working with a fresh copy of lynx 2.7.1 ac - version 100.  When
I try to compile, using the USE_EXTERNALS , I get:

cc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I/projects/gnu/sparc-sun-solaris2.4/include 
-I/projects/gnu/sparc-sun-solaris2.4/include/ncurses  -I.  -I..  -I..  
-I../WWW/Library/Implementation   -g -c ./LYKeymap.c
"./LYKeymap.c", line 68: undefined symbol: LYK_EXTERN
"./LYKeymap.c", line 68: non-constant initializer: op "NAME"
cc: acomp failed for ./LYKeymap.c

Anyone have a solutions for this?
