LYNX-DEV A little Lynx/2 help needed |

Hi There, Yall
I have just recently acquired Lynx/2 and am trying to get it running.
The archive file I downloaded was "os2lynx271r1.zip."
It is installed to the point that is runs. I just have not been able
to figure out how to get off of the home page and to connect to the URL of
my choice.
Figuring I had worn out my welcome with address@hidden in
getting the installation accomplished, I thought I would try to finish the
job here.
The operating system I am running is OS/2. I am trying to use my
Netscape "bookmark.htm" file as my URL data base. What follows are the
Lynx/2 variables(?) in OS/2's "config.sys" file and the part of the
"lynx.cfg" file where variables are enabled.
REM ------------------------------------------------------------------
REM *** OS/2 LYNX SET STATEMENTS ***
REM ------------------------------------------------------------------
SET HOME=G:\OS2LYNX
SET WWW_HOME=http://www.iserv.net
SET LYNX_CONFIG=G:\OS2LYNX
SET TERMINFO=G:\OS2LYNX\terminfo
SET TERM=ansi-color-2
# lynx.cfg file.
# The default placement for this file is /usr/local/lib/lynx.cfg (Unix) #
or Lynx_Dir:lynx.cfg (VMS)
#
# Definition pairs are of the form VARIABLE:DEFINITION
# NO spaces are allowed between the pair items.
#
# If you do not have access to /usr/local/bin you may change # the
default location of this file in the userdefs.h file and recompile, # or
specify it's location on the command line with the "-cfg" # command line
option.
#
# Items may be commented out by putting a '#' as the FIRST char of the
line #
# All definitions must be flush left and have NO spaces.!!!
#
#
# STARTFILE is the default URL if none is specified on the command line #
or via a WWW_HOME environment variable.
# note: these files can be remote (http://www.w3.org/default.html) # or
local (file://localhost/PATH_TO/FILENAME
# replace PATH_TO with the complete path to FILENAME
# use Unix SHELL syntax and include the device on VMS systems) #
#STARTFILE:http://lynx.browser.org/
STARTFILE:http:///G:/NETSCAPE/bookmark.htm
# HELPFILE must be defined as a URL and must have a
# complete path if local:
# file://localhost/PATH_TO/lynx_help/lynx_help_main.html
# Replace PATH_TO with the path to the lynx_help subdirectory # for
this distribution (use SHELL syntax including the device # on VMS
systems).
# The default HELPFILE is:
# http://www.crl.com/~subir/lynx/lynx_help/lynx_help_main.html # This
should be changed to the local path.
#
#HELPFILE:http://www.crl.com/~subir/lynx/lynx_help/lynx_help_main.html
HELPFILE:file:///G:/OS2LYNX/ABOUT_LYNX/about_lynx.html
# DEFAULT_INDEX_FILE is the default file retrieved when the
# user presses the 'I' key when viewing any document.
# An index to your CWIS can be placed here or a document containing #
pointers to lots of interesting places on the web.
#
#DEFAULT_INDEX_FILE:http://www.ncsa.uiuc.edu/SDG/Software/Mosaic/Metaindex.html
DEFAUTL_INDEX_FILE:///G:/NETSCAPE/bookmark.htm
Well, after loading the above, I saw I need to do a little editing. I
also had to do a little editing on the lynx.cfg file. However, it still
did not help me figure out how to gain access to the "bookmark.htm" file
so I can connect to the URL of my choice.
Thanks in advance to any and all for your help.
