This is either going to be straightforward (install Lynx, install screen
reader) or virtually impossible. I suspect the latter, given that you
are dealing with a 32 bit networking program.
I suspect the solution where there is most experience would be to use a
netcom, rather than an ix.netcom, account, if they are still available
(i.e. a Unix shell account).
Otherwise, Windows 95 might be a better choice as Lynx will then be a
reasonably well behaved, albeit non-GUI, program.
My best choice would be to use "Unix". I strongly suspect that there
is screen reader support for Linux, but the easiest would probably be
a two machine solution, with a DOS machine acting as a local terminal
to a Unix one. Provided you make sure that the Lynx version has the
patches to remove the unnecessary use of floating point, a 386 SX 25
will be powerful enough, if it has a fast serial card and 4M of RAM.
If you get someone else to build the system, you will probably get away
with 30MB of disk - I could do it in much less, but it is more work.
