LYNX-DEV problem with http:// prefix |

I am using Lynx/2.7.1ac-0.65 (libwww-FM/2.14) on a FreeBSD 2.2.2-stable
system, and I am expieriencing an odd behaviorism.
In normal circumstances, if I try to go to an address, the browser will
automatically prefix the address with the http:// prefix.
However, when I am in a directory on my system,
/usr/home/mfisher/midi/#MIDI-Stuff#/Rock/80's misc
I given this output unless I use the http:// prefix:
/usr/home/mfisher/midi/ directory
Current directory is /usr/home/mfisher/midi/
drwxr-xr-x 3 mfisher mfisher 1024 Sep 14 13:19 #MIDI-Stuff#/
---
(end quote)
This happens with any http URL I try to open, unless I prefix it manually.
If I can provide any further information as to this, please let me know.
