I didn't see this - but I suspect the problem was a misplaced assignment
in configure.in for the cf_cv_ncurses_header variable (it should have
preceded CF_CURS_PERFORMANCE).  That broke some tests in interesting ways
(but didn't break the native curses build on Linux and SunOS).  I think
that's probably what went wrong with HP-UX.

I'm about halfway through another patch, probably will be done on
Wednesday again (since there's more to be done from last week wrt the
install-help rule).
