Platform: SPARC Solaris 2.4, Sun compiler, lynx 2.7.1 (fotemods) or
lynx 2.7.1 ac 55. Ncurses library selected.
I do the following steps.
$ lynx
P
1
return
At this point, I have the file name home.txt displayed for saving
my default WWW_HOME page.
I press left arrow 5 times. The cursor is positioned over the e in home.
I then press the right arrow 1 time and the cursor is over the period.
I press it another time, and the arrow doesn't move. I press it a third
time, and a t is output over top of the period. I press it a forth time
and an x is output over top the former t. I press it a fifth time and
a t is output over top the former x. I press it a sixth time and the
arrow doesn't move. I now see the string "hometxtt". I press return.
I then do
Q
and I get back to the
$ ls home*
home.txt
So it appears that lynx remembers the period - butdoesn't display it.
