Also patents; you can't distribute code that includes RSAREF under the GPL
and you can't derive and distribute software which isn't covered by the
GPL if the only licence you have is the GPL.  (The copyright owners, and
only they, could provide alternative licence terms, e.g. Perl is issued 
under both the GPL and the "Artistic License".)


(The proxy solution would be considered an aggregation by the FSF, and not
a derived work; the proxy couldn't be distributed under the GPL, but the 
combination could, providing the different licence terms for the components
was made clear.)
