LYNX-DEV ~ -> $HOME in local URLs |

Hi,
There's a very annoying bug in lynx 2.6 and 2.7: "~"s anywhere in
local URLs get substituted by $HOME, so that, for example,
lynx /snarf/http/www.math.princeton.edu/~nelson/
tries to read
file://localhost/snarf/http/www.math.princeton.edu/home/rootnelson
instead, thus making lots of files in my "local mirror" inaccessible.
I tried to run lynx with the -trace option and almost discovered where
the error is: I got
LYGetFile: getting file://localhost/snarf/http/www.math.princeton.edu/~nelson/
HTParse: aName:file://localhost/snarf/http/www.math.princeton.edu/home/rootnel
son relatedName:
but I couldn't fix it.
Any hints?
Thanks in advance,
Eduardo Ochs
