That was an intermediate step in making a target which works on Scott's
machine (that is solaris2-ncurses), but I left it in since I don't know
whether the one I ended up with is better or more general for others
than what you gave.  I didn't spend much effort on adapting the Makefile
to the RP changes, so others will still have to custumize it, and maybe
experiment and see what works for them.
