If you play dirty ncurses has LOTS of colour. You simply need to cycle through
the 8 colour pairs until they are all used, then refresh then start reloading
them. I gave up playing with bgcolor etc - VT100 terminals and the like when
you tell them to do optimised stuff like "clear to end of line", use the
black/white colour, so a background colour is _SLOW_
