This is fantastic!  Okay, now can a good proposal come out on how we
identify this snapshot?  Wayne, how have you handled the CHANGES file?
The top date on that file was what we were using to identify Fote's
code.  We need some very specific identifier for each progressive step.

Are there any sites willing to carry the latest developmental source?
Chances of people like me downloading from anything but the fastest
http server are nil.  Ftp generally better.
