After my report here, I popped off a note to the webmaster at
genetics.upenn.edu. He wrote back a 'head scratching' note to
the effect "I never heard of nntp: before", so I popped into lynx, went
thru the help screens to the RFC, and sent him the URL. But the time
the other folk here tried it, he had changed! That`s service - and that's
what a lot of webmasters will do to conform to standards, if folk are just
polite (rather than sarcastic, flaming, etc.) and point out official
standards.
I don't claim that _all_ webmasters will make such changes, but some
have.
