Yes, it's your site's DNS resolution off working in a basically system
call state, which doesn't really provide an easy way to interrupt it.

yes, in cases where lynx is polling, it allows you to interrupt.  However,
there _are_ other places where no interruption is available - since
they seldom happen, you just have not seen them.  An example would be
if the mime files are being read in from an NFS'd file server which
was not responding.  There's no way to interrupt the wait without
terminating your program.

There is a patch for it - check lynx://lynx.browsers.org/ for the
link to the Lynx patches.

As far as I am aware, there's no real effort working toward integrating
the patch into the mainstream.
