I built and installed both official lynx2.6 and the very first 2.6update
from Henry with no problems (it has been more than 1 month) on UW.2.02
and UW-2.1. What lynx/UW version do you have ? Do you use native cc or gcc ?
Bela also has a UnixWare binary somewhere.
