I don't know if this is a group worth their salt or what, I only just
heard of this. But, they are promoting accessibility. If some journal wins
and has made their site very legible by Lynx, we could have a marketing
angle for Lynx. Just a thought.

Subject: Charlesworth Award for Ejournals

Subscribers may be interested to learn about a new award for online journals
known as The Charlesworth Group
Award for Electronic Journals. Any journal which is available online is
eligible to enter. The award is run in association with the British Library,
the Association of Learned and Professional Society Publishers, the
Electronic Libraries Programme, and The Serial Publishers Executive of the
Council of Academic and Professional Publishers of The Publishers Assocation.

The award is to promote excellent overall design in the broadest sense and
to recognise the journals which the judges consider to have reached the
highest standards.

The judging criteria will be:

*Accessibility of the information
*Overall design and presentation
*Functionality and ease of use
*Innovation in relation to the publication purpose
*Ease of navigation through the journal

The award will be presented on December 12th 1996. The winner receives a
cash prize of 500 pounds and a momento to be kept by the team. There are
certificates for the winner and highly commended runners-up.
